Join us this week as Julie and Sarah interview Maddie, a student. We discuss anxiety in schools, what stressors kids have, and how teachers and parents can help. This is a great companion episode to our "Understanding Children's Anxiety" episode!
Community Routes: Anxiety in Adults
This week we cover anxiety in adults when we feel outside our window of tolerance and hyperaroused. We talk about what anxiety can do for us, how to pay attention to our feelings to know what we need, and what it looks like to regulate the excess energy. We also welcome Sarah Wakefield to our Community Routes Team!
Off the Beaten Path with Sarah Wakefield pt 2
Join us in our discussion with Sarah Wakefield as we unpack perfectionism, a desire to control, and how to find moderation. We consider the powerful aspects of humanity as we welcome vulnerability and authenticity that helps connect us to others.

Community Routes: Understanding Children's Anxiety
In this episode we unpack some of the behaviors we see on the surface when children and adolescents experience anxiety, as well a lot of overwhelming feelings that are stirred up underneath. We give practical phrases to give support as parents or teachers offering a safe space to kids and teens when they are overwhelmed. We look at anxiety through the lens of secure attachment to help co-regulate emotion in this hyperaroused state outside the window of tolerance.
