What precautions are you taking during COVID-19?
Sessions are offered via Telehealth (HIPAA compliant video conference) or phone session for those who prefer it. For in person sessions, an informed consent must be signed by the client and outlines the safety procedures which include: closed waiting room; therapist texts client when ready; use of masks; hand sanitizer and temperature taking; chairs more than 6 feet apart; not attending in person if symptomatic, exposed to anyone who tested positive in past 14 days, or anyone in household is symptomatic; notifying therapist if traveling outside the state.
Do you do Telehealth?
Yes. I use a HIPAA compliant platform called SimplePractice.
Do you see children?
Not currently during COVID-19. I primarily work with adults and adolescents. I have a children's room in my office space that will be utilized again in the future for a limited number of younger clients. I primarily choose to focus on work with the parents or adoptive/foster parents directly because this is what will most influence the healing of the child. I do enjoy my work with children, as my background was previously in elementary education and I have four of my own (now adolescents and young adults). I look forward to taking a few child clients in the future after the pandemic.
